Wingnut with Hank Roberts
Over the past 4 or 5 years I’ve been a guest performer with ‘Wingnut’. I suppose that now I’m a ‘certified member’. This group consists of Michael Stark on keyboards, Walt Lorenzut on bass, and Zaun Marshland on drums. We perform original music inspired from rhythm and harmony forms and improvisation. We are rehearsing and performing on a regular basis working towards concerts in the US for fall 2008 and a European tour in fall 2009. I’m real excited about how this group is developing, and it’s a big focus for me right now.

Hank Roberts with Marc Ducret and Jim Black
Over the past several years I’ve been touring and recording with a new group which includes French guitarist Marc Ducret and NY drummer Jim Black and myself. we completed our third tour of Europe this past March ‘08. Our new CD ‘Green’ on ‘Winter and Winter’, was recorded in Munich in June ‘07 with Stefan Winter producing is now available.

Hank Roberts and Wiggy Dog Boy
In 2002 my CD called ‘The Truth and Reconciliation Show’ was released on ITown records. I was moved to present alternatives to violence in the world. The ensemble that recorded the CD, including from 5 to 13 musicians, performed regionally until the end of 2005.

Bill Frisell
In 2002 I also began working with Bill Frisell again (we first began playing together in 1975), recording the 858 Richter CD with the 858 Quartet including violinist Jenny Scheinman and violist Eyvind Kang. We began performing concerts with the quartet and with Bill’s Unspeakable Orchestra, and recording the next CD which was Bill’s 2005 Grammy award winning CD, “Unspeakable”. There is more recorded material from a tour last year that was released in May 2008 as Bill Frisell “History Mystery”. The 858 Quartet recently recorded music for the NPR special series called ‘Stories from the Heart of the Land’ http://www.nature.org/heart/. Over the past few years we’ve toured in Europe once and the US several times, performed at the Chicago Philharmonic Hall and at Carnegie Hall. The 858 Quartet got a great review in the NY Times during our week at the Village Vanguard in NYC. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/17/arts/music/17fris.html?scp=1&sq=Bill+frisell+858&st=nyt

Buffalo Collision
I’m excited to be working in this group with my friend Tim Berne on alto saxophone, along with pianist Ethan Iverson and drummer Dave King both from the group ‘The Bad Plus’. We’ll be performing at the Jazzfestival Saalfelden in Saalfelden, Austria on August 23rd 2008, and will be touring Europe in January 09. (other possible dates are in the planning stages)

Ti Ti Chickapea
Hank Roberts on cello and vocals, Richie Stearns (from the Horse Flies) on banjo, tenor guitar and vocals, Eric Aceto (from Mectapus and Djug Django) on violin and vocals. We perform a combination of old time, folk, original songs, and improvised music. Our first CD ‘Change of Worlds’ came out on Orchard Beat Records. We also recorded one with Kevin Kinsella, ‘Firestick’ for ITown records.

Kevin Kinsella
Kevin Kinsella is a singer songwriter who is best known as the original founding member of the Reggae group ‘John Brown’s Body’. He and I perform together in a variety of musical groups; as a duo, with Ti Ti Chickapea, and as ‘Ascensions’ with Winston Watson, a key figure in the Reggae community who was a part of the well known Reggae group, ‘Meditations ‘. Kevin Kinsella is the founder of the Ithaca collective record company, ‘ITown Records’ which my ‘Truth and Reconciliation Show’ CD came out on.

Jeb Puryear
Recently I’m happy to have the opportunity to record and play some concerts with Jeb Puryear from Donna the Buffalo. Over the past year we’ve played a bunch of concerts together with his band and in a duo setting. I’m on Jeb’s new CD on the ‘Grassroots’/'ITown Records’ labels. It’s been great to get to know Jeb more and to play his inspiring music.
